Lwebri Citizens Agency Chairperson Francis Lwenya has said he will move to the High Court to stop what he termed a coordinated campaign to tarnish the reputation of National Lands Commission (NLC) Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Kabale Tache Arero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lwenya said the decision followed a review of documents presented in support of earlier calls for the removal of Arero from office, which he said were not certified true copies from the relevant investigative agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, Lwenya said he had consequently set aside an earlier statement he issued regarding the matter, noting that the allegations against the NLC chief executive lacked credible verification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He expressed concern that some individuals were allegedly seeking to remove Arero from her position by damaging her reputation through unverified claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPublic institutions and their leaders should always be subjected to accountability, but critics must be based on facts, fairness and evidence and not personal vendettas,\u201d he noted in the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lwenya said while public officials should be held accountable, public debate must be anchored on verifiable facts and responsible discourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further cautioned against what he described as personal attacks targeting women in leadership, saying such actions risk undermining public confidence in institutions involved in critical national development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chairperson said his legal team had been instructed to move to court and seek appropriate orders barring individuals, organisations or parties from publishing what he termed false, unverified, unsubstantiated and unlawful allegations against Arero pending the hearing and determination of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the intended legal action was aimed at protecting the constitutional rights of the NLC CEO while ensuring that public debate remained truthful and lawful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lwenya, however, clarified that the legal action was not intended to prevent legitimate criticism, accountability or the reporting of wrongdoing based on verified facts and documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called on those with credible evidence of wrongdoing against Arero to present it to relevant investigative agencies, including the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, Parliament and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKenya deserves a culture where public servants are judged by measurable performance, integrity and service delivery and not political rhetoric,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement comes amid calls by some individuals for the removal of the NLC chief executive, with Lwenya maintaining that any such claims should be subjected to proper verification and established investigative processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
